Currently serving as Director of Patient Care for the Medical Doctor Program at New York Medical College and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Levin is widely recognized for her work integrating psychological science into medical practice to enhance patient outcomes and strengthen healthcare systems.

Dr. Levin began her academic journey studying Medical Physiology and became a licensed Clinical Psychologist in South Africa in 2002. She later earned her PhD in the United States, concentrating on Health Psychology and Neuropsychology. Her multidisciplinary training has allowed her to bridge the gap between behavioral health and medicine, creating innovative approaches that address both the clinical and human dimensions of healthcare.

An accomplished educator and international lecturer, Dr. Levin has trained healthcare professionals around the world and has served as a consultant within the pharmaceutical industry. Earlier in her career, she led Training and Development for Janssen-Cilag Pharmaceuticals, where she helped advance professional education initiatives designed to improve patient care and clinical practice.

Her commitment to advocacy extends beyond healthcare settings. Dr. Levin contributed to the New York Mayor’s Office Commission to Combat Domestic Violence and authored a guide for medical providers focused on delivering culturally informed care to survivors of domestic violence. Her work has also addressed child trauma, death and dying, and other critical areas that impact patient well-being.

Within academia, Dr. Levin plays a pivotal role in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. She develops curricula that teach medical students how to provide compassionate and effective care to individuals living with both visible and non-visible disabilities. In addition to her responsibilities at New York Medical College, she serves as core faculty in a doctoral clinical psychology program, teaching courses in neuropsychology, health psychology, and psychological assessment.

Dr. Levin also directs a research laboratory dedicated to chronic illness management, including Long COVID and mental health. Her scholarly contributions continue to shape the field, with 11 published articles this year alone and a growing body of research focused on patient-centered care and chronic disease management.
